As we all know. Haslar and Stonehouse are no longer Naval hospitals. They were centres that offered the highest levels of care and cleanliness to it's service and civilian patients a like….
Although, predominently a Stonehouse rating I, nevertheless, held both of these hospitals in high regard. The levels of training and care provided by both of these hospitals put many of the NHS Trusts in the shade. I have fond memories of both.
Sad times indeed for a proud Medical Branch. They will be both, sadly missed.
Progress? I think not.

Like you, Mick, I was born a Guzz rating, but went on to become proud of Haslar as well as Stonehouse. When I was serving in Haslar, the hospital was in the ascent, adding to its facilites and expertise. The surgeons and physicians were highly respected throughout the medical world. It isn't just the buildings that have been closed, we have lost generations of specialised skill.
Positive regression.

Spot on John. Not sure how we effectively train new medics now. The demise of military hospitals is, in my humble opinion, hugely detrimental to the care of our forces personnel.

Come on guys all RN hospitals were centres for bad practice, poor hygine and generally inhumane, control seeking english discraces. For naval heritage and memories of good times and good friends they were excelent. For patient care and high standards…. computer says no!!!!!
I have 100 or more stories of mal practice at Haslar and RNH but they were my home and we could do anything in or out of the office pub. NHS best to deal with our boys as military has NO place in healthcare!!!
You are, of course, welcome to your opinion. Certainly, your view, does not reflect my experience in Naval hospitals.
